Here's a new, exciting way to use Teen Health & Wellness...have your teens create "glogs" to highlight their research!

In the Chicago Public Schools, Sheryl Osborne, Librarian at Benito Juarez Community Academy, collaborated with classroom teachers on a research project using Teen Health & Wellness. Sheryl helped freshmen students research a health topic of their choice and create a "glog" to present their findings.

Topics ranged from drugs and STDs to social problems and mental health. Students spent three 45 minute class periods researching their topics and taking notes, three days creating "glogs," and then 2-3 days presenting their projects.

Sheryl conducted a follow up survey of her students using Zoomerang and confirmed that they found THW valuable and enjoyed using it for their research projects. You can view sample glogs created by Sheryl's students on the topics of bipolar disorder (2), herpes, abortion, and menstruation.
